Does anyone know how we did on our goal of raising 7 million for Edwards on Friday?

In 2002, John Edwards looked ready to take over the reigns of the Democratic Party.  Today, he’s trying to save it from itself.  The former trial lawyer had good looks, Southern charm and a populist message.  He had the back story.  He had the wife, kids and charisma to win it all.  The campaign played it safe for too long and Kerry won the nomination.  I know what happened because I was there.  I was a field organizer for John Edwards for the Iowa Caucus in 2004.  Torture, Katrina and four years later, things look familiar.  It’s déjà vu on the political front.  A front runner is intimidating anyone to dare question their inevitability.  A media ready to call a victory before the first vote is even cast.  John Edwards is fighting for the support to get him across the finish line.
