Why Gore/Clark is the best choice

Mon May 15, 2006 at 09:49:32 AM PDT

All the Sunday News shows automatically assumes that Hillary is going to be the Democratic Nominee for the 2008 presidential election.  As much as I hate to admint it, I do not believe American would elect a woman president.  Ask the American people face to face, "would you vote for a woman for president"?, they'd all be shamed into saying "oh yes, of course I would" but put them in a voting booth, all alone, I believe the people in this country would never elect a woman, especially at a time of war.  The only other candidates mentioned by the media are Bidden, Bahy and Sen. Feingold (great guy, can't win)
The DLC (all Clinton folks) have convinced themselves they have the party back in their pocket (read the trash in Paul Begala & James Carville's new book.. and please, read it in a library, I'd hate to see them make money on this peace of crap).  This book shows just how out of touch those inside the beltway Democrats are with the base of the party.  It is very important to me that the next president be someone who is against the war.  So, what are my choices in the party???  Hillary, I can't stand her, (and I worked for her to win the senate) Kucinich or Feingold??  (I would love to see Dean run but I couldn't bear to watch the press play that scream one more time)   Kucinich is a joke and Feingold, seen as a lefty, won't run strong nation wide.  So we have a long drawn out primary and end up with someone who does not represent me, and truthfully, I'll just stay home election day.

Unless it's Al Gore.  Al Gore has been on the correct side of every important issue, from the war to global warming.  And let me state, if you haven't seen Al Gore in the last 6 years, you would hardly recognize him!  The stiff, poll following, wimpy, boring guy who ran in 2000 is gone... Gore is filled with the kind of passion that the Democratic party is desperate for.  He's got enough anger to give me the red meat I crave but he's seen as a moderate by those who don't keep as close tabs as we who get our news from the internet.  He's perfect.  I will not vote for Hillary.  I worked my ass off for someone I knew couldn't win in the last election.  I would have worked hard for ANY DEMOCRAT to get bush out.... but this time it's different.  I am angry with the democratic senators & congressmen from Rohm Emanuel to Chuck Schumer,  those who kept their mouths shut at a time when this nation needed them the most.   So I'm done working for who ever wins the primary, this time I'm voting my conscience.   Al Gore fills all my qualifications and I believe he can win.

So, WHO TO RUN WITH GORE..... I would then push for Clark.  Why?  It's simple... look at all the polls, the only poll  Bush still ranks high on is the "who will protect you" question.  The republicans may look pathetic now but wait until 2008 comes around, right around the summer months when the race is really heating up.. that's when the republicans are going to pull out the "you won't be safe with Democrats" bat and pound us into smithereens.  There is really no way to stop them, it worked like a charm in 2004, Cheney even had the gall to say we would "definitely be attacked again if a Democrat was elected".  It's a huge problem for most Democrats running and I believe it is the reason why Hillary and many of those Democrats interested in the presidential race, continue to stand by there Iraq war vote,  They sound like fools.    So, why do these intelligent people stick by such an obviously and tragically bad choice????  Because they are terrified of being  called weak on defense.  They truly believe that even though this war is so unpopular, immoral and most Americans believe bush lied, the democrats are trapped and can't figure a way out.  So, what have they done, they  have completely alienated the base.  I say make Clark the VP.  Every time the Republicans say democrats can't keep the country safe, bring out General Clark and take a picture of those 4 stars.  I think he's the only person who can deflect the only issue the Republicans continue to own.

Go
Gore/Clark... I'd start working for that ticket today!!!
